Why is it so difficult to understand some TV programs?
Hearing loss or hearing problems are not always the only factors that affect the viewing experience. Modern TV sets with their slim, space-saving designs often have small built-in speakers that cannot reproduce the TV sound optimally. Dialogue can sound indistinct and flat, while music and noise can be overwhelming. But the way sound is produced for movies and TV shows has also changed.
Why is good television sound so important?
Good television sound is not just a question of luxury. It is essential in order to truly capture the complete experience that filmmakers and producers have created for viewers. The quality of the sound influences our emotions, our attention and ultimately our entire viewing experience. Television sound also influences speech intelligibility, and in action-packed films or series with lots of background noise, it can be crucial to hear every dialog clearly in order to follow the action.
Developed by the family for the family
"My father's hearing became increasingly poor and he had to make more and more of an effort to understand the TV sound. In particular, he could no longer hear the dialog properly and quickly became tired due to the strain of listening. The fact that he kept increasing the volume caused constant tension at home. It was no longer possible to watch TV together in a relaxed manner. With OSKAR , he now brings the sound directly to him on the couch. The volume no longer has to be turned up so high that others feel disturbed. Now he can even talk to us on the side. If necessary, he can amplify the voice reproduction at the touch of a button and peace has returned to the Faller home."
